WHY DOES AMBULANCE SERVICE COST SO MUCH?

Emergency Ambulance Service is committed to providing top-notch quality medical care and ambulance service to the residents of the communities we serve.  Each city council or county board of supervisors establish the maximum fees ambulance service providers may charge in each of our service areas.  These fees are based on the costs each ambulance provider incurs to provide service.  Some of the costs of the provision of service include: response readiness, personnel staffing and training, vehicle / equipment replacement and maintenance, dispatching services, billing functions, administration and percentage of indigent care provided.
