Emergency Ambulance Service Names Chad Druten Director of Government Affairs

BREA, California - October 8, 2001 - Emergency Ambulance Service (Emergency) has appointed Chad Druten director of government affairs.  Druten will oversee the company’s public affairs outreach and community relation’s efforts.  He brings more than 18 years of emergency medical service knowledge to the company, including significant experience with American Medical Response, Inc. (AMR).

“Chad has worked for some of the largest companies in this industry,” noted Philip Davis, president of Emergency Ambulance Service.  “He brings a great deal of skill and experience with him and we’re happy he has joined the Emergency Ambulance family.”

Druten began his career in the mobile healthcare industry in 1983 as an ambulance attendant with Goodhew Ambulance Service in Los Angeles.  A move to Risher, Inc. in Montebello, California launched more than a decade of service for the company-from an entry-level position to director of operations.

AMR brought Druten into the fold after the company acquired Risher in 1996.  A large, publicly traded company based in Colorado, AMR appointed Druten as director of administration, interim director of operations, operations manager and director of government affairs.

In 1998, he accepted a position as vice president of ESI in South El Monte, California and worked with the company for three years.

“Emergency Ambulance is a strong, family-oriented operation,” said Druten, “and the company’s current upswing is due to a well-focused strategic growth plan.  I’m anxious to use my experience to take them even further.”

He has served as treasurer, vice president, and president of the Los Angeles County Ambulance Association; as a member of the California Ambulance Association Education Committee, the Board of Trustees of Saint Francis Medical Center and the LA County EMS System Analysis Task Force; as a technical committee member for LA Care Healthplan and as an advisor to several other institutions.

Druten holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of the State of New York at Albany and has participated in undergraduate programs at California State University and UCLA.

Family-owned and operated since 1977, Emergency Ambulance Service, Inc. has 12 ambulance deployment centers located throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties.  Emergency provides Emergency Basic Life Support and Nurse-Staffed Critical Care Transportation in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, and Advanced Life Support Paramedic ambulance service throughout Los Angeles County.  The company also provides 911 primary emergency ambulance services to six of the cities it operates in, as well as providing back up 911 service to several surrounding communities.
