Brea, California - October 25, 2002 -- Emergency Ambulance Service, Inc. (EMERGENCY) announced today that it has purchased Stryker™ Corporation's RUGGED™ Stair-PRO chairs for its entire fleet of ambulances.
The introduction of the Stair-PRO into Emergency's fleet will enhance both employee and patient safety. Patient transport on stairways will no longer be a concern for company emergency medical technicians (EMT's).
"Patient handling in staircases may be the one of the most dangerous situations emergency medical technicians face on the job with real potential for back injury," said Jim Karras, Emergency's general manager. "That is why we decided to purchase Stair-PRO™ chairs for each ambulance in our fleet."
